KPFarm will offer an additional 10% discount (TOTAL 20% discount for crawl passport holders) on purchases of raw alpaca fleece, roving, yarn and duvet batting.  

Our on-farm store features a broad selection of locally produced and imported alpaca products.  All of the raw fleece, roving, yarn, duvet batting, ‘Signature’ woven throws and hand-knit products are produced from fleece harvested from our own alpaca herd.  Additional alpaca products such as clothing, scarves, socks, accessories, slippers and home décor are imported from Peru.

Kensington Prairie Farm is a working farm and home to 78 Huacaya Alpacas, 1 Suri alpaca and 29 Registered Polled Herefords.  In all breeds, we utilize the best genetics available and breed only our top females to ensure quality offspring.  Poor quality animals are not utilized in our breeding programs.

Alpacas are fleece animals.  Each spring we send a small fleece sample from each alpaca to a testing lab in Australia.  These test results are a valuable stock management tool, which assist us in annual breeding decisions and alpaca shearing preparations.  After shearing, we sort and grade our fleece into six grades, two lengths and twelve colours.

Only the finest fleeces are made into yarn and finished goods.  Course or robust fleece is recycled as hanging basket liners or garden mulch.

We invite you to view our latest production of alpaca yarn.  After sorting and grading the fleece post-shearing, we stockpiled until we amassed a record 700 lbs. of premier Grades 1, 2, 3 and 4 fleece in a multitude of natural colours.  It took over a year to process this amount of fleece and we are proud to showcase our best yarn ever to discerning knitters participating in Woolith Fair.
